C++’s Standard Template Library (STL) My intent here is to provide a gentle introduction to some of the container classes defined by the STL. My personal experience is that the pair, the vector and the map are used more often than the other STL classes, so I’ll frame my discussion around Size: KB. The C++ standard library provides a set of common classes and interfaces that greatly extend the core C++ language. The library, however, is not self-explanatory. To make full use of its components-and to benefit from their power-you need a resource that does far more than list the classes and their functions. "The C++ Standard Library" not only provides comprehensive documentation of each /5(19).

The Containers library is a generic collection of class templates and algorithms that allow programmers to easily implement common data structures like queues, lists and stacks. There are three classes of containers -- sequence containers, associative containers, and unordered associative containers -- each of which is designed to support a array(C++11): static contiguous array, (class template) [edit]. Standard Template Library in C++ is a pre-defined generic implementation of most widely used data structures and algorithms. By generic implementation it means that there is a single implementation of various Classes and Functions which works with multiple datatypes by the use of templates.

Created to provide C++ programmers with a suite of reusable programs, or lines of code. This book includes chapters which cover one STL component, and includes background, a review of the standard. The book is an improved version of my German book "C++ Standardbibliothek" published by O'Reilly. The goal of this quick reference is to provide a concise reference of the C++ standard library. This book assumes that you are familiar with C++.

The STL is a collection C++ libraries that allow you to use several well known kinds of data structures with out having to program them. They are designed so that the code runs efficiently. The compiler does most of the work of. The following list of C++ template libraries details the various libraries of templates available for the C++ programming language.

The choice of a typical library depends on a diverse range of requirements such as: desired features (e.g.: large dimensional linear algebra, parallel computation, partial differential equations), commercial/opensource nature, readability of API, portability or Dialects: Embedded C++.

dard C++ Library, and from that day on it went onto a triumphal march. Alexander Stepanov and Meng Lee had proposed the result of years of research at Hewlett-Packard, a standard template library, to the standards committee.

The committee gracefully adopted the STL as part of the C++ Standard at a committee meeting in. Reasons to Use C++ Standard Template Library (STL) Code reuse.

Instead of implementing lot of code we just reuse it. Efficiency (fast and use less resources). This is the reason that modern C++ compiler are usually tuned to optimize for C++ Standard Library.

Accurate, less buggy. Terse, readable code; reduced control flow. C++ Standard Template Library (STL) Let's Get Started with Examples of vector STL Template Class.

In computing, a vector refers to an array-like structure that holds a set of direct-access elements of the same kinds, instead of mathematical n-component vector. Unlike array which is fixed-size, vector is dynamically-sized.

The Standard Library is a fundamental part of the C++ Standard. At this point, you understand all the basics of the containers section of the Standard Template Library. Of course, there are lots of details associated to this.
